They are called "talking stick" and are used in different customs.
The idea behind them is who ever is holding the stick gets to do the talking without interrupts from others. They can only listen and must wait to talk until they hold the talking stick. Once the person holding the stick is done talking, they pass the stick to the next person. At this time the next person is allowed to speak.

The medicine wheel talking stick has a stained wooden stem wrapped with seed bead strands.
Decorated with sinew, beads and horse hair.
Medicine wheel is wrapped in leather.

There is an assortment of different colors for the seed bead wrapping around the handle. We pull them at random and can't guarantee which color gets shipped.
